National Party Legislative Council member Niall Blair put forward the motion, which called on parliament to condemn the organisers of "Meat Free Week" for their attempts to damage the Australian meat industry.
The motion also applauded Federal MP for Dawson, George Christensen, for his initiative "Free Meat Week", which called on people to support Australian farmers by buying meat and putting on a free BBQ for their families and friends.
Mr Blair said he was surprised to see members of the Greens vote for the motion in the NSW Upper House, but added he thought they might simply not have read it thoroughly.
"I'm really happy the Greens supported my motion... some might say they were asleep at the wheel, though," he said.
Mr Blair said the National Party would not stop pushing for support for farmers, especially when faced with opposition from anti-agriculture activists.
"Whenever people want to do these things to hurt our meat producers, we will stand up."
