FURTHER decreases last week resulted in the Eastern Market Indicator (EMI) drop another five cents a kilogram on Wednesday and 3c/kg on Thursday to close the week at 1029c/kg.

The fine wools bore the brunt of the negative market sentiment, while the medium-micron categories were less affected with lower volumes of these types available.
Crossbred wools also maintained good levels.
Fremantle recorded decreases of 28c/kg to 34c/kg for the 19.5- and finer-micron categories from the levels posted at the previous sale two weeks prior.
The eastern sales were not far behind with losses generally about 10c/kg to 15c/kg for fine wools during both days of sale.
Medium to broad wools were less affected.
Most categories were either a few cents down or unchanged for the week.
Forward markets have been quiet, with limited bidding and high asking levels.
