Supported by Destination NSW and recognised as the biggest combined Rodeo and Campdraft in the southern hemisphere, it attracts some of the country's top competitors.
Coonamble Shire Council tourism development manager Lauren Picone said the event provided a huge economic injection for the town, attracting both visitors and competitors from across the region.
"About 1000 of the nation's top cowboys and about 4000 spectators descend on Coonamble each year, effectively doubling our local population."
The event encompasses steer wrestling, calf roping, barrel racing and Saddle Bronc, bareback and bull ride competitions.
The Campdraft prize pool will include two tailor-made saddles, and three service fee vouchers for leading sires.
On the Monday the Junior Rodeo sees the up and coming stars of the rodeo circuit battle it out.
