THERE were 6830 head up for sale at May's store cattle sale at the Central Tablelands Livestock Exchange (CTLX) at Carcoar.

All were of high quality, thanks to the good autumn conditions in the area.
Buyers faced a solid steer market, albeit down from the previous month, with weaners fetching a top of $700 and yearlings a top of $690.
Heifers found it difficult to match the price of the steers, with weaners topping $510 and yearlings $595.
About 300 pregnancy-tested-in-calf cows were offered and reached a top of $840.
Cows with calves at foot reached $1200.
The sale was well attended by locals and out-of-towners.
