MURRAY Goulburn supplier Neville Kydd is excited by the way his co-operative is pushing hard to encourage more milk production to cash in on rising export demand.

The third generation South West NSW dairy farmer also envisages the industry absorbing much more outside investment in farmland in coming decades.
"To be a success, capital investors from outside the farm can't risk being over-extended with debt commitments and must maintain a good standard of initial infrastructure to keep the farm viable," he said.
Mr Kydd (pictured), "Avonmore", Finley, felt NSW had potential to contribute more to Australia's milk output, including scope for more dairy manufacturing to return to the State.
Mr Kydd milks 1200 Holstein, Jersey and crossbred cows with his wife Ruth, sons Daniel and Steven and their wives Vanessa and Kerrie.
The family rebuilt numbers from a slimmed-down 700-cow herd during the drought and is now looking at invest in more milking infrastructure to improve efficiency.
