Who knows - one day in the future The Land may catch up with the girls again when they are old enough to be selling or buying their own cattle.
Battle of the weaners
A BATTLE is brewing up north in the lead-up to the Tamworth Regional Livestock Exchange's next feature weaner and breeder sale on April 4.
It's been hailed as the "battle of the weaners", with this sale attracting a prize for the top weaners on the day.
Purtle Plevey Agencies principal Patrick Purtle, Manila, said this would be an excellent incentive for vendors with a $1500 prize package on offer.
The vendor of the top pen of weaners will take home a Virbac prize (including two Multi-Min, 500 mililitres and two Cydectin Long Acting, 200ml) worth $1000, as well as $500 cash from the Tamworth Saleyards Selling Agents Association (TSSAA).
It doesn't stop there.
The vendors will also be awarded a take home trophy, and have their names on the weaner board of honour.
"I encourage anybody with weaners ready to contact me regarding our sale," he said.
The sale follows on from last week's autumn feature weaner sale at Tamworth where weaner steers sold to $540.
