The small town will host the annual Barellan Masters Games this month, an event that attracts hundreds of people from the region and beyond each year.
This year's games will be held from February 21 to 23, and will feature 13 different sports.
The event will begin on the Friday night with barefoot bowls and will continue the next day with touch football, team penning, tennis, golf, The Barellan Run, The Barellan Walk, basketball and twilight swimming.
Sunday will see the triathlon, cycling, netball, cricket and more tennis.
The Barellan Masters Games Committee has already donated more than $32,000 in grants since its inception in 2010.
These funds have been used to help community organisations to complete projects, such as solar heating for the local pool.
This year, the committee have pledged to donate 30 per cent of all proceeds to the Barellan Aged Care Association to assist with the construction of aged care units.
Barellan resident and committee member Carl Chirgwin expects this year's event will be another fundraising success, with an estimated 350 players to attend from NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
"We know word is spreading about the event," he said.
"Last year we had a few come from Geelong and they've gone back and told their friends it's a great weekend - very relaxed, plenty of competitive spirit and excellent hospitality - and now we've got a couple more car loads coming up to join us this year."
Mr Chirgwin encourages men and women of all ages to come to Barellan for the weekend - even those who aren't part of an existing team or club.
"Don't be afraid to come alone, you'll make friends straight away and have a great time."
