The cooler weather is assisting fire crews who are working hard to ensure the area is secured before the expected weather change later this week.
The bushfire is burning out of control near Shannons Flat Rd, Murrumbucca, 20 kilometres north of Cooma.
The fire started on January 31 and is west of Billingra and Nightingale Rds, east of Shannons Flat Rd and 4km south of Mt Roberts.
The NSW Rural Fire Service, National Parks and Wildlife Service and ACT Rural Fire Service are working hard to ensure the area is secured before the expected weather change later this week.
Residents will continue to see smoke from this fire, as well as helicopters and fire tankers in the area as work continues to control and extinguish this fire.
As weather conditions allow, back-burning operations will be undertaken, increasing some fire activity at several locations.
The RFS advises residents to put their Bushfire Survival Plan into action.
"If you do not have a Bushfire Survival Plan, know what you will do if the fire threatens your property," the RFS says.
"Well prepared and actively defended homes can offer safety during the fire."
If your life is at risk, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
To stay up to date, check www.rfs.nsw.gov.au, listen to your local radio station or call the NSW RFS Bushfire Information Line on 1800 679 737.
If you live in the area but are away from home, it may not be safe to return to your property.
