The prestigious 1300-metre Orange Picnic Cup was won by four-year-old chestnut mare Red Letters, trained by Lex Crosby, Forbes.
Jockey Billy Owen rode Red Letters from fourth spot to finish strongly on the outside, winning by a half-length.
Eleven-year-old gelding Dr Renlap, from Narromine trainer Kylie Kennedy's stable, finished second with eight-year-old Exchancellor, trained by Rodger Waters, a good third.
After a 28-year break as a trainer, Lex had his first runner Red Letters win the Class B Handicap during last year's Bedgerabong Picnics.
