Heifers to a top of $4250, twice

Futurity Fully Loaded Ruby J6 (P) (AI), a roan offered by the Catts family, Futurity stud, Kenebri near Baradine, made equal-top money when purchased by James Sheahan Catholic High School, Orange, and Eloora Judith J07 (ET) (P), sold for the same price by the Brook family, Eloora stud, Cavendish, Victoria, to Angus Spry for his Eden Park stud operated with his brother Lachlan at Tamworth.

The Futurity heifer was sired by the $18,000 Futurity Fully Loaded F109 (P) (Roan), bought at the 2012 Catts family sale by the Johnstone family for their Ronelle Park stud in partnership with Southern Cross Shorthorns, Rocky Glen.

James Sheahan's Norton Park stud manager and agriculture teacher Sarah Eyb said the heifer would become a member of the school's show team, and she had wanted to introduce new genetics into the herd.

"This heifer will fit beautifully as she has the breed type, conformation and genetics."

She said the school herd was fortunate that it had early support from the Job family of Marellan and Royalla studs, Cumnock and in recent times, the Johnstones from Ronelle Park stud, Lyndhurst.

The Eloora heifer, Judith J07 (P), a red Embryo Transfer daughter of Sprys Patent's Ace G38 (P) and from Royalla Ida 8364L (P), is a full sister to the show's Division 1 and grand champion bull, Eloora Designer J06 (P) (ET), bred and shown by the Brook family, Eloora stud, Cavendish, Vic.

Patent's Ace G38 sold for $46,000 top price at the Sprys Shorthorn stud sale last year and is being used in a number of overseas countries with outstanding success, according to Gerald Spry, Wagga Wagga.

Mr Spry purchased the heifer for his grandson, Angus to go into the Eden Park stud, originally formed for his son, Matt, but now transferred to his sons at Tamworth.
