THE recently appointed Minister for Gaming and Racing, Troy Grant, paid a visit to this year's Tomingley Picnic Cup to surprise veteran race caller, Colin Hodges, Forbes, with a Dubbo Electorate Award in recognition of Col's contribution to the community and his support of country racing.

This year's Tomingley Picnic Cup was won for the second year in a row by the Kylie Kennedy, Narromine-trained Millenium Hawk with Queanbeyan jockey Ricky Blewitt in the saddle.
Tomingley local Vicki McIntyre was selected as the winner of lady pick of the field with Melissa Armstrong also from Tomingley taking home the title of fantastic filly.
Peak Hill school teacher, Shannon Gane, was the gentleman pick of the day with Lachlan Roach, Dubbo, named this year's champion colt.
The magnificent millinery award went to Queensland visitor, Denise Taylor, from the Gold Coast.
