FarmFest's livestock area has long been one of the major drawcards of the three-day event and this year's jam-packed program is as diverse as it is comprehensive.
Co-ordinated by the Kingsthorpe Park Livestock Committee, FarmFest Livestock this year will incorporate four main activities.
The first is the Black Toyota Led-Steer Competition, with judging in five classes, to be held on Tuesday, June 7.
It will include special school and college classes and is expected to draw a large field from throughout Queens- land and Northern NSW, with specialist led-steer competitors viewing the event as one of the more prestigious on the calendar.
A young handlers and young judges competition will also be held on the Tuesday.
The Battle of the Bulls Competition, with judging in British, European and tropical breeds across light to heavy weight classes, will be held on Wednesday, June 8.
And the final big event is the Fantastic Females Competition, across the same breed and weight classes, on Thursday June 9.
Meanwhile, scores of studs will be showcasing more than a dozen beef breeds from Santa Gertrudis to Belted Galloways and Red Angus to Murray Greys.
Working dog demonstrations will be run throughout the event and the showcase of Australian Draught Horses at work will include the opportunity for visitors to try their hand at ploughing.
