ANGUS judging is always a must-see event at the Sydney Royal and it is capped off with the highly regarded Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) Angus Bull and Female sale, which this year is set to attract more than 60 lots of bulls, females and embryo packages.

As in previous years, this year's sale is set to attract some of the best genetics from across NSW and further afield in what is a convenient "one-stop-shop" for buyers.
Indeed, it is the ability for buyers to access a wide range of top Angus studs in the one place - as well as to see how many of those cattle perform in the show ring - which makes the sale so popular each year.
Once again there is a strong line-up of cattle on offer from leading studs.
Elders stud stock specialist Josh Crosby, Dubbo, said this year 31 bulls and 28 females were in this year's catalogue.
Also on offer are 14 embryo packages; both female and embryo numbers are up on last year.
Mr Crosby said it looked to be a strong sale with the selection of cattle up for sale.
"In my opinion, this year's sale has the best run of cattle we have ever offered," Mr Crosby said.
He said quality was always a highlight of the sale, given the very high standards the event demands.
"People know the quality of the cattle has to be very good for them to sell at this event," he said.
But the sale is also a very good opportunity for buyers to take home a leading bull or female at a good price.
"For the quality of the cattle we are offering, this would also have to be one of the best value sales."
Many repeat vendors will once again be offering cattle.
All up, Mr Crosby says 19 vendors will offer cattle at this year's sale, but some will also be selling here for the first time.
And given their spread from across the State, as well as some from Queensland, Mr Crosby says the Angus sale is an ideal "one-stop-shop for buyers" with an excellent selection of cattle available in one location.
The sale will be held in the Amphitheatre on Saturday, April 12, at 6pm.
Angus judging also takes place on Saturday, April 12, from 8am.
Last year's sale reached a top of $12,000 for a female entry from Irelands Angus, Irelands Elma G155, entered by the Wagga Wagga-based stud.
The result added to Irelands' success from the year before, when the stud topped the sale at $16,000 for another female, Irelands Vicky E26.
Bulls reached a top of $8500 at last year's sale, while embryo packages sold to a top of $5000.
At last year's sale, 32 bulls, 23 females and seven embryo packages were offered.
Mr Crosby said given some dry conditions last year the bulls had been tougher to sell but there had been a very good response from buyers for the females.
The RAS Angus Bull and Female sale will be conducted by Elders and Landmark.
