WEANER steer prices continue to sizzle on the second day of the annual sales at Wodonga.
Elders Wodonga agent Matt Tinkler said prices were on par with those yesterday, but the steers offered today were generally weighing heavier across a bigger supply of cattle.
There were about 5200 head offered at the sale and Mr Tinkler estimated the heavier steers were coming back at about 330 to 350 cents a kilogram and the lighter 260kg to 310kg steers were in the 380c/kg region.
Northern competition has once again been strong with several feedlots from northern NSW active on the heavier steers, while the lighter steers have been selling as far as southern Queensland.
