The yarding included about 900 weaner steers and heifers and 600 PTIC females and cow and calves.
Cattle came from the local region, as well as Barraba, Quirindi and Gunnedah and buyers came from the Gunnedah, New England and Hunter Valley areas.
Weaner steers weighed from 200 kilograms to 300kg and sold from $650 to $1060 and yearling steers made between $900 and $1200.
Weaner heifers weighing between 200kg and 300kg ranged from $600 to $980 and PTIC females sold from $1000 to $1300.
Cows and calves made between $1000 and $1900.
Agent Simon Burke, Burke and Smyth, Tamworth, said good quality lines of cattle sold well, despite the cheaper prices compared to the previous store sale.
“Today we saw a firm market with a plainer yarding.
“A fortnight ago was an exceptional sale with some very good runs of breeder cattle lines of weaner and herd dispersals.”
