Competing against 250 head of top-quality cattle, Dubbo’s supreme beef accolade was awarded to a Red Angus bull, Black Diamond Red Jaguar, exhibited by Pine Villa stud, Yeoval.
The 30-month old, 1200-kilogram bull was earlier sashed senior and grand champion Red Angus bull, before winning the top title of interbreed supreme bull.
Jaguar’s success began at the 2016 Sydney Royal Show with a surprise Red Angus reserve senior champion ribbon win.
Exhibited by Chris Haycock, Pine Villa, Yeoval, Black Diamond Red Jaguar was sired by BST Tullatoola Mr Beef A25 and from BST Tullatoola Robins Doll C104.
After purchasing the bull from Pine Creek Angus, Cowra, Mr Haycock knew he had selected a “powerhouse bull”.
“It was his smooth shoulders with such a strong body that gained attention; he is a structurally correct and high-performance animal,” Mr Haycock said.
