Police are warning people not to approach two criminals who have escaped a minimum-security jail in remote New South Wales.
Geoffrey Fieldsend and Richard Reginald Pretty were discovered missing from the Warakirri Correctional Centre at Ivanhoe, in the state’s far west, on Saturday evening.
The pair was last seen in the Mitchell Street compound around 6pm, with a search initiated “immediately” after it was noticed the pair were missing.
NSW Police have warned members of the public not to approach Fieldsend, 30, and Pretty, 29, if they are spotted, and to call Triple Zero immediately.
Fieldsend is described as being of Caucasian appearance, around 180cm tall and having a slim build.
He pleaded guilty to supplying methylamphetamine on an ongoing basis and to one count of supplying a prohibited drug before Dubbo Local Court in September last year.
Pretty is described as being of Caucasian appearance, around 180cm tall and having a medium build.
Both were last seen wearing prison greens.
Police were canvassing the area on Saturday night, stopping vehicles heading out of the small town and warning residents of the situation.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page.
