There was an offering of 633 mixed quality tablelands cattle featuring mainly Angus weaners, but with some good lines of Murray Grey, Hereford and Shorthorn weaners, and an excellent selection of PTIC Angus and Murray Grey heifers.
Landmark, Goulburn, livestock agent, Daniel Croker said the quality of cattle were mixed with most weaners showing the effects of a harsh winter.”
“Prices were exceptional especially on the better bred cattle,” Mr Croker said.
“Indicative prices showed steers ranged from 360 to 444 cents a kilogram, while heifers ranged from 330c/kg to 385c/kg, depending on weight and quality.”
Michael Hall Livestock, Goulburn principal, Michael Hall thought the sale was ‘very strong’ and reflected both the shortage of suitable cattle and continued optimism within the industry.
“Considering the seasonal conditions there were still some nice lines of weaners available that presented very well,” he said.
“The market was very strong across all lines, maintaining the recent current highs, as buyers actively competed to secure the smaller numbers on offer.”
