Buttons the cat, who has his own Facebook page and poses for a best-selling calendar, has been named the joint state winner of the Dermcare Clinic Cat of the Year for the second year running. He shared the honour this year with Prince Charming from Concord Veterinary Hospital.
Buttons, a six-year-old British Shorthair/Persian, calls the Stewart Street Veterinary Hospital home, where his tasks include greeting clients and sleeping in the in-tray. Veterinarian Dr Kate Ireland was not surprised that the clinic celebrity was so unruffled.
“Buttons really loves the limelight,” she said.
The competition was decided by popular vote.
