The success began in the March shorn section with champion ram and ewe double and later in the August wool section, the champion superfine ram.
Strong wool March shorn ram championship went to Greenfields Poll stud of the Sullivan family, Hallett, South Australia, after the 21 micron son of West Australian bred East Mundalla Jonty (a past Bendigo Australian Sheep and Wool supreme exhibit), was grand champion at Crystalbrook show.
Laraben Poll stud, Ulan, exhibited the champion fine wool March shorn ewe and reserve superfine ram while the Johnston family’s Austral-Eden Poll stud, West Wyalong, exhibited the champion fine wool ewe.
Standing reserve to Poll Boonoke’s junior champion in the medium wool section was the Jones family’s Darriwell stud, Trundle, who also exhibited the reserve champion strong wool ram behind the Greenfields champion.
Terrick West Poll stud of the McGauchie family, Prairie, Vic, showed two reserve March champions in the fine/medium wool ram and strong ewe sections.
Reserve champions in the August shorn section included Karowara Plains Poll stud conducted by the Watts family, Bedgerebong, superfine ewe and fine/medium ram; Jolly Jumbuck Poll stud, Mitchell, Queensland, fine wool ewe and strong wool ram.
