The 4400 head yarding of mixed quality cattle resulted in 19 Santa Gertrudis cows and calves sold by Santaco Rural, Tamworth, hit the sale top price of $2750, with pens making between $1800 and $2750.
Grant Family Trust, Loomberah, near Tamworth, sold the top price pen of weaner steers for $1280.
The 29 Angus steers were apart of the Grant Family Trust’s draft of 80 autumn drop cattle which ranged from 320 kilograms to 350 kilograms.
Lightweight weaner steers made between $850 and $920, middleweight steers sold from $920 to $950 and heavy weaner steers made between $1100 and $1280.
Hereford yearling steers sold by Tycolah Pastoral Company, Barraba, topped the category at $1410.
Lightweight yearling steers sold from $1080 to $1160, middleweight steers made between $1200 and $1310 and heavy pens made between $1280 and $1410.
Sold by Gravelands Agriculture, Currabubula, PTIC cows topped $1800 and cows and calves made between $1800 and $2750, with the top price pen fetching $2750.
Lightweight heifers made between $850 and $920, middleweight heifers sold for $900 to $1050 and heavy pens made between $1180 and $1210. The $1210 top price pen was sold by Penbury Pastoral Company, Barraba.
Among the happy vendors were Richard and Pam D’Hudson, McEvers Park, Goolhi, who had a pen of 24 Angus steers top $1360 and 37 Angus heifers top $1210.
The D’Hudson’s saved a draft of 114 12 to 14 month old steers and 66 heifers for the sale, with an overall weight range between 270kgs and 325kgs.
Mr D’Hudson said he sells at the Landmark Classic store sale because it provides a wide range of potential buyers.
