With working dog demonstrations to commence at 9.30am, 50 quality dogs from started pups through to fully trained dogs will be put through their paces during the day.
The auction commences 7.30pm with vendors attending from Tasmania through to Wollongong in the north.
Co-ordinated by Andrew Rutherford, Jerilderie, the regular event attracts keen interest for the top dogs on offer.
“The dogs are suited to working sheep in the paddock, yard , truck or shed,” he said
“And are equally competent working cattle or goats.”
Mr Rutherford said with favourable livestock prices, a wet 2016 and prosperous weather forecast for 2017, auction coordinators are anticipating prices in excess of $10 000 to be reached for the first time at Jerilderie.
“Buyer interest so far has included all states of the country excluding NT,” he said..
