A top-price of $7000 was paid by long-term client Dorothy Griggs, Yang-Yalley, Araluen, NSW, for bull Glenholme Lawrence.
Ms Griggs also paid top-price last year and said the cattle were proving themselves.
“He is a good looking bull, I am very happy with the bloodline,” Ms Griggs said.
Glenholme Lawrence was sired by Kirraweena Godfrey, and was the first calf of Glenholme Queenie H015.
Kirraweena Glenholme’s Geoff Bush said the bull had beautiful combination of length and a great muscle pattern.
“We stand behind everything we sell,” Mr Bush said.
The second highest price paid was $6250 for Glenholme Lambert, selling to the Mitchell family, Boorowa, NSW.
Glenholme Lambert was sired by Allendale Vengeance A49, out of Glenholme Lindy Loo H062, Homozygous polled (PP 98 per cent).
Seventeen of 29 bulls sold and averaged $4546. Buyer interest came from the local region and Forbes and Bathurst, NSW.
Unjoined heifers sold under a three hammer system for varying prices averaging $1523 and topping at $1850 and all 23 of the 23 yarded sold.
“It was great to see the support of old and new clients, especially in the horned Herefords which sold very strongly,” Mr Bush said.
“We have a very exciting 12 months off the back of this sale, with Sydney Show, Wodonga National in the second week of May.”
With Holman and Tolmie agent Gary James retiring this year, Landmark agent Peter Godbolt took on the role of auctioneer with help from Mr James. Mr James has worked for 25 years with the Bush family, including since they held their first bull sale in 2003.
