FOR THE second consecutive year Colinta Charolais stud topped the Allflex Charolais National Sale at Dubbo, this year at $20,000 for the second placed 22 to 24 months class Colinta Levi.
Bred by Colinta Holdings, the pastoral arm of Glencore Coal Australia, Levi was purchased in partnership by Queensland breeders Stephen Hayward, Advance Charolais, Allora, and Brendan Scheiwe, Brendale Charolais, Marburg.
Both buyers currently have breeding stock on shared agistment with Mr Scheiwe saying Levi would be joined to a selection from each herd after showing at Brisbane Royal Show in August.
“I like his thickness and muscle, and his finishing ability,” Mr Scheiwe said.
