Thirty-two Knox boys achieved ATARs of 99 or higher, with Knox school captain Tom Woodcock and Sean Stuart achieving the perfect score of 99.9.
Ben Adams, Port Macquarie, achieved the highest ATAR by a boarder was 99.7.
Four boarders were placed on the All Rounders Achievers List for attaining 90 or higher in their best 10 units: Ben Adams; Joshua Ellis, Griffith; Alexander Vains, Sydney, and Oliver Harvison, Scone.
“This year’s results are some of our best ever and a testament to the hard work of our boys and staff,” said headmaster John Weeks.
“We are absolutely delighted for the boys and their families and teaching staff.
“I am confident these young men will be heading off to their course and university of choice in 2018 because of these strong results.”
Knox ranked 19th out of 650 schools (Sydney Morning Herald ranking, December 15, 2017), with 660 Band 6 results (subject results of 90-plus).
“As a non-selective boys’ school, we are extremely pleased with the rise in the ATAR ranks,” Mr Weeks said.
“Each boy’s result is a reflection of his own commitment, dedication and focus.”
Fifteen Knox students placed in the Top Achiever’s List for being in the top 20 in NSW in a course, including boarder Alexander Vains, who placed 15th in the state for business studies.
Knox boarder Oliver Pike, Canberra, was nominated for ARTEXPRESS for his HSC visual arts major work.
Three Knox boarders were nominated for the SHAPE exhibition of outstanding Industrial Technology and Design and Technology projects – Hugh Browning, Narromine, for his multi-draw tool box, Oliver Harvison for his ute tray with storage and Nat Martin, Hay, for his personal safe.
