The lure of $500 cash for the best dressed tropical male and female as well as the most original ensured many colourful outfits were to be seen.
As heatwave conditions were forecasted for the day and with the hottest temperatures expected to be later in the day Racing NSW made the call earlier in the week to move the race times forward by almost three hours so that the races would be completed earlier than normal, which was appreciated by all on course.
