The Nouvelle Cafe off Peel Street was broken into on November 15 and the cash register and money stolen.
Police had a breakthrough in the investigation this week after allegedly matching DNA to evidence found at the scene of the break-in.
Manilla police arrested a 46-year-old man on Friday morning in the town before he was taken to Tamworth Police Station and charged with break, enter and steal.
He was refused bail to front court on Saturday.
Meanwhile, police are investigating reports of a brawl in West Tamworth that saw four people injured.
Officers received several Triple Zero calls for people fighting in the street in Anthony Road about 8.30pm on Thursday.
Four people suffered minor injuries and were assessed by paramedics. Two people were taken to Tamworth hospital and released a short time later.
Police are investigating the incident and reports the fight was part of an ongoing dispute in the neighbourhood.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Tamworth police.
