The research priorities and needs of the southern New South Wales grains industry will be kept firmly in focus with the Grains Research and Development Corporation announcing a series of open forums starting next month.
Held as part of the GRDC’s Regional Cropping Solutions Network (RCSN) the forums are open to any grain growers, agronomists, researchers and industry stakeholders wishing to raise issues, constraints and opportunities for research, development and extension (RD&E).
GRDC Grower Relations Manager North Richard Holzknecht said the forums were an opportunity for those involved in the grains industry to have a say and assist the GRDC to understand their concerns and develop targeted RD&E investments that created enduring profitability for grain growers.
“I would strongly urge those involved in the industry, whether it be as growers, consultants, researchers or industry stakeholders to take the time to get involved and help ensure the research needs and priorities of the region are understood,” he said.
Open forum meetings will be held at:
Holbrook, July 18
Balranald, August 2
Greenethorpe, August 28.
The dates for events in October have been set:
Marrar, October 11
Beckom, October 15
Temora, October 25.
Meetings are also scheduled for February and March next year in Griffith, Buraja, Finley and Lockhart.
