SOME of the best regional drops will be available at the Mudgee Field Days, with the Mudgee Wine Grape Growers Association holding free wine tastings.
The local group has been exhibiting at the event for the past 15 years.
Showcasing local wines helps smaller wineries that don't have cellar doors, association vice president Steph Ross said.
"We have free wine tastings, but customers can also buy a glass or bottle to have there or to take home.
"Being part of the field days encourages people to go to cellar doors to see the bigger range of wines on offer in the region.
"A lot of people taste the wine here, then next time they visit Mudgee, they'll think about that wine they had and want to visit a cellar door."
On offer is a selection of wines from Slow Fox, Elephant Mountain, Lazy Oak, Vinifera Wines, and Walters, including chardonnay, semillon sauv blanc, rosé, merlot,
cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and possibly malbec and tempranillo.
Over the past few years they've paired to wines with sit down meals, Mrs Ross said.
"People can come in and get a nice meal that they want to sit down and have a glass of wine with.
"And we've got a winemaker talking about wine or food and wine matching."
