TWO major vendors contributed to the larger offering of 1600 head at Dubbo store cattle sale on Friday with weaner steer topping at $800 and their sisters making up to $610.

One vendor, John and Louise Thornton, "Old Buckinguy", Warren, cleared their six to 11 months-old weaner drop of 408 Angus steers and heifers a month earlier than previous years due to seasonal conditions.
"They are a little bit lighter than we would normally have them but it's a drier season too," Mr Thornton said.
"We are also trying to bring our calving forward from August to July so need to offload them to make room for the calving cows."
The Thornton's draft was based on Farrer and Kansas bloodlines with steers making from $520 to $800 a head, while the heifer portion sold up to $610/head. The whole offering averaged $550.
Mr Mooy said the sale results were on par with previous years.
"I thought it was a very good sale, especially considering the current season."
Another draft of 600 weaners from BPC Pastoral, sold to buyers from as far south as Bendigo, Victoria, to Hay, Lake Cargelligo and the Hunter Valley.
Angus cows with calves at foot from the Armatree district topped at $910 a unit while bobby calves two to four months of age sold at $400 a head.
Braford weaner steers from Nyngan made $420 a head.
Among the top sales of the day was a pen of 22 Angus steers of seven months, bred and offered by David and Peter Wiseby, Botobolar near Mudgee, making $612.50 a head.
