DSK TGL Metric M59E (ET) (P) has been named the supreme exhibit of the 2018 Pickles Auctions Charolais National Showcase, following his senior and grand champion bull win.

Judged by Tim Vincent from Booragul Angus, Piallaway, the bull was exhibited by Chris Knox and Helen Alexander from DSK Charolais stud, Coonabarabran.

Mr Vincent said he couldn’t go past the bull for his supreme champion.

“He is big and strong with a lot of strength of spine and sire’s appeal. He stands square and has good testicular development,” he said.

“He has goods scan with a lot of carcase, showing he has the ability to put fat down on a large amount of meat which I believe is paramount at the moment.”

Sired by Temana Golden Logie G66E from DSK My Estelle D34E, the two-year-old bull weighed 1028 kilograms with an eye muscle area (EMA) of 146 centimeters squared and fat scans of 18 millimeters and 10mm in the rump and rib.

It sells as the lot 20 in today’s Allflex Charolais National Sale commencing at 3:30pm.

Also exhibited by the DSK Charolais stud was the reserve champion senior bull, DSK TGL Max M69E (P) (R/F).

From DSK WW Estelle B9E, also sired by Temana Golden Logie G66E, the rising two-year-old weighed 1038kg with a 142cm sq EMA and fat scans of 15mm and 9mm in the rump and rib.

They teamed up with another paternal sibling to win the sires progeny class. DSK also won the “President’s Cup” breeders group of three.

Temana Lilly L145E (P) (R/F) exhibited by the Nicholls family from Tookawhile Charolais stud Rukenvale via Kyogle, was unstoppable in the female section, taking home senior champion female before she was sashed as the grand champion female of the show.

By Kenmere Grand Master from Temana G28E, the rising three-year-old female showed with a four-month-old heifer calf at side, Tookawhile Pitch Perfect, by Temana Louie L35E.

The first-calf female was also the supreme exhibit of the recent Casino Beef Week in May 2018.

Moongool Warocal Gay 4 claimed reserve senior champion female, with a bull calf at side. The three-year-old cow was an Airlie Easter daughter from Moongool Warocal Gay 2.
