Lambs at Wagga Wagga.
Another Australian record for lamb prices tumbled at Wagga Wagga last Thursday, just over a week after the previous mark was set.
A pen of 99 second-cross Dorset lambs, estimated to weigh 40kg and above, sold for $281.20 a head.
The lambs from Temora sold to Thomas Foods International.
The previous record was set at Wagga, when a pen of 10-month-old lambs sold for $276.20.
The Land’s Trade Lamb Indicator surged to 724 cents a kilogram this week – up nearly 30c/kg in the past week.
