Clipex had a strong display at the Mudgee Field Days including a sheep handler, a cattle crush, and sheep and cattle panels, but according to Bruce Catto it was their exclusion fencing which garnered the most interest.
Normally used to keep wild dogs and kangaroos at bay, interest from farmers was if the fence would keep wombats out.
“We had very good interest in our products across the board,” Mr Catto said.
“We were very happy with the level of enquiry and we are currently following up leads for all our branches.
“While there was interest in all our products, there was special interest in our fencing, particularly our exclusion fencing.
“It felt like every second person asking about exclusion fencing wanted to know if it would keep wombats out.
“While not doing vast amounts of damage to pastures, wombats can compromise the structural integrity of a fence and make it easier for other animals to get in.
“When the season finally gets better, farmers are going to want to protect their pasture.”
Mr Catto said the field days were a great opportunity for farmers to be able to have a look at Clipex’s products, see how they work and ask any questions.
“Mudgee was a great opportunity for farmers to see how easy our products are to use,” he said.
“Our sheep handler is all about automation, making it easier and safer for farmers and their stock.”
