Even though it is dry across the western Riverina, Hay is well known as a source of quality Merino sheep and there are 15,000 listed for sale tomorrow: and The Land will be livestreaming the opening pens at auction from 11am.
That number is an increase on the 12,000 advertised, but could yet hit 20,000 when the numbers are finally tallied, depending upon the ability of vendors to get there stock yarded.
Feature lines include 800 May-shorn April/May ‘17 drop Merino ewes, Yarto-bred and Alma-blood, account “Yarto” Booligal and 1900 July-shorn Merino ewes, April/May ‘17 drop, “Tiarra” bred and Gunbar Station-bred.
“Tiarra” are also offering 950 July-shorn, April/May ‘17 drop, Merino wethers, while “Eulalie”, Hay vendor will offer 400 Poll Dorset/Merino mixed-sex lambs, May/June ‘18 drop and unshorn.
Hay-based agents Elders and Landmark will conduct the sale.
