The large crowd was also on hand for the official re-opening of the 110-year-old grandstand which had only just completed a $150,000 renovation in time for this year’s meeting.
Forbes trainer Dennis Bush and Dubbo based jockey Greg Ryan provided the locals with something to cheer about after they combined to win back to back races with We Love Rugby and Hu Hit Hu. Melissa Gaffney from Forbes had the best Cutting Edge Racewear on the day while Melissa West also from Forbes was named the Most Elegant Lady.
