A magnificent run of young females were offered at the Spring All Breed Female Sale at Maitland on Saturday.
Bowe and Lidbury agent Greg Lidbury said of the 600 head offered, the best quality lines were about $200 a head dearer and other runs were $50 to $100 dearer than recent sales.
Weaner heifers from six to 12 months sold from $300 to $900 a head and averaged $650.
Pregnancy-tested-in-calf heifers sold from $1100 to $1620 and averaged $1450.
The cows with calves sold from $800 to $2125 and averaged $1450 a unit.
Mr Lidbury said PTIC cows, aged four to seven years, were snapped up for $1680 to $1800 a head.
Some for the top sales included Jim and Sally Tickle from Sugarloaf Angus near Dungog who sold three Angus cows with calves for $2125.
These top quality breeders were bought by Mackas Pastoral, Gloucester.
Barry Shearman, Fullerton Cove, sold six Charolais cows with calves for $1400 to Jim Eccleston, Woodville.
