The top-priced pen were quality Angus/Murray Grey weaners among a consignment of 53 steers and 50 heifers from one vendor with the heifer portion making up to $330 a head for their top price.
The Murray Grey steers sold from $235 while the whole section of 65 head ranged in price from $145 to $455 to average $297 including some British-cross steers making $300 a head.
The section of 62 weaner heifers sold from $240 to $330 to also average $297 a head.
A single pen of 24 Brahman/Charolais cows weighing between 400 and 550 kilograms (liveweight) sold at $440 each.
Meat and Livestock Australia reported the smaller yarding attracted a small but enthusiastic crowd resulting with most cattle selling at similar rates as the previous sale.
