A series of field days to which farmers are invited will be held across the south and sponsored by Tattykeel Australian White stud, Oberon and Craig Pellow, QPL, Temora.

Mr Pellow said the sponsors acknowledged the difficult times many landholders were experiencing and they thought a field day was an opportunity to draw them out and hear about the assistance which is available.
“We will also be talking about the Aussie White breed and a barbecue will be provided,” he said.
“So come along and enjoy an Aussie White meal and refreshments.”
Mr Pellow said the following venues are organised:
- Ivanhoe Hotel Motel on February 4, 5pm.
- Homebush Hotel on February 5, 5pm
- Balranald Football Shed on February 6, 7.30am.
The following speakers will address key issues affecting many in the bush after introductions from Graham Gilmore and Craig Pellow.
Graeme Witte – Rural Financial Counselling Service, will be present to help farmers through the process and let them know what is available in government assistance and grants.
Donny Byrne – DPI NSW Rural Resilience Service, will create opportunities to connect farmers with support services and others in farming communities.
Marie Kelly – Health Services, is increasing awareness about mental well being.
Tanisha Shields – Local Land Services officer in Balranald will talk about pastoral management in dry times.
Sponsor Graham Gilmore, from the Tattykeel Australian White stud, Oberon, said as consumers became more fastidious with their eating habits, quality meat was being demanded, and Mr Gilmore said the breed had been recognised as being the “Wagyu of the sheep world”.
“There is something unique about the eating quality and that is backed up with chefs telling me of the low melting point of the fat,” he said.
