In these challenging times, accessing quality education can be difficult for a lot of regional and rural families, ending family traditions and limiting opportunities.
“We are thrilled to be able to support regional and rural families through our scholarships program,” principal, Dr Peter Miller said.
“For entry into 2020 we are offering academic, music, boarding, creative and performing arts scholarships.
“Applicants complete a test and, depending on the scholarship, they may also need to audition or provide a folio.
“Applications close on Friday, February 8, and the test will take place at the college on Saturday, February 16.
“In addition to these tested scholarships, in April, we will open up a number of special boarding scholarships for rural and regional students for entry into Year 9, 10 or 11 in 2021.”
“We know there are many families who need the support and that there are lots of great students who deserve the chance to thrive.”
To be considered for one of these means tested scholarships, students must be a new enrolment to The Geelong College.
They must be entering Year 9, 10 or 11, live in a regional or rural area and demonstrate a strong commitment to their education and other areas of excellence.
