This year the Peggy Fulwood Memorial trainer’s trophy for the most successful trainer at the Geurie Picnics, was awarded to Rodney Robb from Nyngan.

Mr Robb trained four of the six winners on the day including the feature race, the 2019 Friends and Family of the late Bernie Wilkins Geurie Cup over 1400m, with Mango Liston.

The four-year-old bay gelding was ridden by Moruya based jockey Maddison Wright.

Mudgee’s Liliana Birchall was named ‘Best Dressed Classic Lady’, while Geurie local Alice Mitchell was the judges’ pick for ‘Best Contemporary’.

This year’s ‘Man About Town’ was Ian Morris from Dubbo, and the prize for ‘Best Hat’ went to Nerchar Fleming from Maryvale.

The junior racegoers were not forgotten, with Jack Fleming from Maryvale and Violet Mitchell from Ponto winning the category for the ‘Best Dressed Tots’, along with Charlie Whillock from Dubbo and Phoebe Jones from Geurie the ‘Best Dressed Teens’.

Another highlight were the novelty races and the egg toss, which was won by Russel and Hannah McKeon from Geurie.
