The Opterra platform for digital agriculture is premised on integrating the fundamental aspects of soil, water, plant and animal.
"At the core of Opterra, we’ve built a patented cropping and livestock planning and feed budgeting tool that enables stock energy requirements to be underpinned by agronomic feed-base planning," a company spokesman said.
"Back Paddock has been a leader in software for crop planning, recording and management of soils and plant nutrition for the last 2 decades, now forming key foundations in Opterra.
"To get soil, water, plant, animal information in one place in Opterra, we are partnering with information suppliers such as soil and feed testing labs, weather stations, and a range of precision agriculture specialists with per square metre and per animal data.
"This means measures of plant growth such as NDVI from satellite can be combined with animal liveweight data in one platform that can be accessed by farmers, agronomists and livestock specialists in real time.
