Western Local Land Services (LLS) invite landholders in and around the Balranald region to join the drought lot tour which will offer insights and opportunities for landholders to improve their livestock and property management during dry times.
As producers in the Western region continue to face dry conditions, options like drought lot feeding can offer a range of benefits according to LLS spokesperson.
"There are a number of designs and ways to set up a drought lot, and the bus tour will visit three local properties to see the different options and explore the benefits of each," the spokesperson said.
Geoff Duddy from Sheep Solutions will be guiding the tour and brings a wealth of knowledge for those who want to take part.
Mr Duddy has serviced regional, state and national sheep and wool producer enquiries, specialising in sheep and meat production, pasture and grain-based finishing systems and marketing for over 20 years.
Western Local Land Services District Veterinarian, Trent McCarthy will also be speaking on animal health and be available to answer any landholder questions.
Landholders are advised the drought lot bus tour will be held on Wednesday, 27 March with the bus set to leave from 82 Market st, Balranald (Western Local Land Services office) at 6.30 am and pick up interested participants at the Homebush Hotel at 7 am and the Oxley church at 8 am.
