SHOWERS and thunderstorms will affect parts of eastern and northern NSW each day for the rest of this week and possibly into next week as well.

A near stationary low pressure trough draped over eastern Australia will trigger daily storms in parts of NSW and Queensland.
Eastern districts of NSW will be the focus of these showers and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday. Most of this activity will occur over the ranges and coasts, although some areas of the western slopes should also see storms.
The bulk of the rain and storms should then contract into northern and northeast NSW during the weekend, as a high pressure ridge starts to build over the state.
Rainfall during the remainder of this week will depend largely on the location and intensity of individual thunderstorms.
As a result, totals are likely to vary quite a bit from place to place.
Some of the storms that develop during the coming days are also likely to become severe.
Be sure to keep up to date with the latest severe thunderstorm warnings each day, particularly during the afternoon and early evening.
There is a fair amount of uncertainty regarding next week. Some models suggest that storms will continue to develop in parts of central and northern NSW during the first half of the week, while other models predict dry weather to return from Monday.
Forecasts are likely to change a bit from day to day due to this uncertainty.
