They are across the political divide but they have one thing in common - the newly elected state representatives who are all farmers are passionate about regional NSW.

On the coast there is Coffs Harbour Nationals MP Gurmesh Singh and representing close to half the landmass of NSW there is Roy Butler and Helen Dalton from the Shooter Fishers and Farmers (SFF) party who respectively will represent Barwon and Murray.
Gurmesh Singh
Fourth generation farmer Gurmesh Singh has vowed to help The Nationals win back the confidence of voters after the party lost seats in the state election.
"We have suffered a little...but when people learn we have farmers who were basically farming until weeks ago represented in parliament by the Nationals it will go someway to restoring confidence," Mr Singh said.
Mr Singh's family has been growing bananas in Woolgoolga since the 1940s but made the transition to berries in 2001. The father of two has been running the family farm (7000 mature macadamia trees and 10 hectares of blueberries) with his father Joginder and brother Manvir.
He said the Coffs Harbour bypass was the first issue on his agenda.
Mr Singh will step down from his position as chairman and director of Oz Group Co-op - the largest 100 per cent farmer-owned co-operative with 160 grower members.
He has been a member of the NSW Farmers' horticulture committee and was on the advisory council for Primary Industries Minister Niall Blair.
Helen Dalton
Water has been "front and centre" of Helen Dalton's campaign.
"I feel strongly about the water debate, for us to get a better deal in Murray, which is a powerhouse for agriculture, we need to address this issue," Ms Dalton said of her win in the seat of Murray, which is her third attempt.
"I'm up for the fight because I know I'm right, when you have right on your side, it's easy to defend."
The mother of four, who has a teaching background, runs an 4046ha diverse farming operation of dryland and irrigated crops as well as livestock with her husband Nayce at Yenda.
"I grew up voting The Nationals, 100 per cent, there was no one else to vote for out here, it was a given for 35 years," the 59-year-old said.
"It was a big thing to change allegiance but SFF were talking about things I thought about.
"I enjoy all things the party represents like fishing, I've got a shooting licence and like to take a pot-shot at a fox.
"It's a party of people who have a lot of commonsense and know the bush."
Ms Dalton was a Nuffield Scholar in 2006, which she said provided her with the political platform to further her interests in agriculture.
She will step down the Riverina Local Lands Service board, where she has been a member since its inception in 2013.
Roy Butler
For the past five months vegetarian farmer Roy Butler has only spent seven nights in his own bed at his 404ha Mendooran property.
The rest has been spent on the road in a caravan, pubs, hotels or staying at people's places travelling around the electorate of Barwon (476,000sqkm).
"I always acknowledged the only reason why I'm in position is because the people of NSW have been good to me," Mr Butler said.
"Through employment it's given me a master degrees in public administration I didn't pay for, and it's given me great experiences.
"I've been working across the Barwon electorate for 17 years across three different government agencies and I've seen so many of our towns go backwards, I really want to reverse that."
The father of three teenagers says the 10-point plan for Murray Darling, right to farm and health were first on his agenda.
"While we didn't end up in minority government in lower house, we are in balance of power in the upper house and will use this as leverage to get the government to do what we want to do," he said.
Mr Butler will resign from his position once the polls have been finalised as Western Region Manager NSW Police, a position he has held since 2009.
He is also the senior vice president of the Sporting Shooters' Association of Australia.
