Values for better conditioned cattle were maintained at Wodonga regular monthly store sale when 3109 head were put under the hammer through Wodonga-based agencies Landmark Paull and Scollard and Elders.
The market was quoted as firm for the top pens of steers and heifers by Landmark Paull and Scollard agent Tim Robinson.
"Those cattle which were presented in better condition and with a reputation are selling well, while the lighter weight pens are harder to move," he said.
Older steers sold from $935 to $1475 while weaner steers sold from $1100 to $540.
Unjoined heifers topped at $1135, while values for young heifers ranged from $970 to $580.
Cows with calves varied from $1560 to $900.
Sales included 35 Te-Mania-blood cows on fourth and fifth calf sold for $1340, while five Hazeldean-blood cows with Witherwood-blood calves and NSM sold for $1560.
