Demondrille and Shalimar studs have come out on top in the super fine wool section in the Royal Sydney Easter Show Merino judging.

The grand champion super fine ram was awarded to Demondrille stud, Harden for their ram from the March shorn, six teeth and over class.
Judge Jono Merriman, Koonwarra and Merrignee studs, Boorowa said the impressive ram was very large for his wool type and had already been recognised at previous shows.
"He's been around, we've seen him at a number of different shows and he's kept on coming since Canberra, GGSM was his first win, so he's a good stud animal for a super fine ram," Mr Merriman said.
The six-tooth class winner had a fibre diameter of 17.2 microns, standard deviation of 2.6, co-efficient variation of 15.1 and comfort value of 99.9 per cent.
Andrew Davis, Demondrille said the ram was sired from one of their own with the grandfather a Merryville ram bought at the Australian Sheep and Wool show for $20,000.
Demondrille won all of the three classes they entered in the super fine section.
The grand champion super fine ewe was shown by Alison and Joe van Eyk Shalimar Park, Walcha, out of the March shorn, six teeth or more class.
"She's very productive for her style, she's well covered, great underneath, feet are tight and well put together, she's a very good ewe," Mr Merriman said.
Alison van Eyk, Shalimar said the March shorn ewe's bloodline went back to a Mary Shields ram. It had an FD of 17.5, SD of 2.3, CV of 13.1 and CF of 99.8 per cent.
August shorn sheep bred by Max and Andrew Rayner, Grathlyn, Hargraves and the Lette family, Conrayn, Berridale were well represented in the super fine section.
The reserve grand champion ram was awarded to the champion August shorn ram from Grathlyn out of the not more than two-teeth class.
While the reserve grand champion ewe was awarded to the champion August shorn ewe from Conrayn out of the not more than four-teeth class.
Mr Merriman said they would be ones to watch.
"Come Bendigo it will be interesting to watch them mature and see how they go down there, I wouldn't be surprised if they win down there," Mr Merriman said.
Overall, Mr Merriman said although there were a few tight classes the lead animals very much stood out on the day.
