Popular local's horse runs away with the 2019 Binnaway Cup.


The 2019 Jack O'Brien Memorial and Binnaway Newsagency Binnaway Cup was won by the Dar Lunn, Dubbo trained Helstar.

The five-year-old chestnut gelding was ridden by the Scone based jockey Ashley Morgan and is owned by popular Binnaway local, Guy "Darky" Mitchell.

The fashion on the field judges selected Debbie Ryan, from Pitt Town, as the best classic dressed lady on course, while Jess Skinner, from "Kybeyan", Merrygoen, was named the best contemporary dressed lady.

In the men's fashions John Hutton, from Neilrex, was the judges' pick for the best classic dressed gent with Ashley Nolan, also from Neilrex, named the best contemporary dressed gent.

Chippy Sallit, from Mudgee, and Mia Jones, from Binnaway, were named the best dressed boy and girl at the annual autumn race meeting.
