SHORTHORN bulls found new homes in five states and share purchases from New Zealand at the 60th annual Dectomax Dubbo Shorthorn National show and sale on Tuesday and Wednesday.

In a 47 per cent auction clearance 54 bulls from a 115 head offering sold at a $6741 average and after seven post auction sales a total of 61 bulls averaged $6426.
Sale-topper at $44,000 was the show's division 3 champion and grand champion bull, Sprys Extra Special N61, bred and offered by Gerald and Lynden Spry, Wagga Wagga, in partnership with David and Marion Spencer, Spencer family stud, Rutherglen, Victoria.
Extra Special was junior and grand champion at Adelaide Royal last year and senior and grand champion at Sydney this year and was purchased by Greg and Megan Schuller, Outback Shorthorns, Culcairn.
Trojon Southern Cross Nic N39, second in his junior class for Trent Johnstone and family, Lyndhurst, sold for second-top money of $18,000 to Fonthill Farm, Melton, Tasmania, operated y the White family who purchased three bulls on the day.
Division 4 champion, Polldale Neat N38, bred by the Williams family, Polldale stud, Dubbo, sold at $12,000 to the fixture's judge, Peter Falls, Malton stud, Finley, in partnership with Browns Shorthorns, Waikato, New Zealand.
Another six bulls sold at $10,000 each.
The sale was conducted by Landmark Stud Stock and Elders Stud Stock, Dubbo with Joel Fleming, Tamworth, selling for Landmark and Paul Dooley, Tamworth, for Elders.
