CALCIPRILL is a 2mm to 6mm granule made from ultra-fine limestone powder and molasses binder.
Manufactured in Bathurst by Omya, Calciprill is finer than any Aglime available with 80 per cent of particles less than 45 microns in size.
Since Calciprill's launch six years ago, more and more farmers have found out how economical, effective and easy to use Calciprill granular lime is.
Building on Calciprill's success, Omya Australia is now pleased to introduce Calciprill +B - a blend of Calciprill and OrganiBOR, a slow release calcium/magnesium borate designed to deliver a steady release of boron into the soil over the growing season.
Boron is essential to cell wall and root development, leading to improved yields and better fruit quality.
As a micronutrient, boron can be difficult to accurately apply at 1kg/ha but by spreading 200 to 300 kg/ha of Calciprill +B growers can achieve optimal and regular applications of calcium and boron, as well as maintaining soil pH.
For magnesium deficient acidic soils, apply Magprill, Omya's granular dolomite, containing 10pc magnesium and growing in popularity with its low dust and ease of spreading.
The advent of Calciprill and our other granules means balanced soils can now be regularly maintained with a much lower rate of lime, preserving a far friendlier environment for plants. Being a granule, growers can apply the product themselves using any spreader designed for granular fertiliser and at any time suitable. Specialist machinery is not required and there is far less dust generated in the process. The ability to band Calciprill on row and tree crops or to use direct drilling also contributes to large cost savings.
Calciprill allows farmers Australia-wide to control how and when their country is limed and with great results.
