POWER efficiency will be a hot topic at the field days as many have the drought and winter power bills on their mind.
Steve Harding and his team at Solar Pumping Solutions will make their 16 th visit to the event.
"We will be discussing ways our customers can save costs through residential and commercial solar power systems, solar pumping systems to replace windmills, diesel and electric pumps along with bore testing and off grid solar options for those in remote areas," Mr Harding said.
In 2018 in Australia a total of 3775 megawatts was installed of large- and small-scale solar over the 12-month period - a near tripling of 2017 installations.
When a big power bill comes through, it's natural to question it and now consumers are turning to solar to reduce these rising costs.
"We have many reliable solutions to take this pain away, in the average family scenario, residential systems pay for themselves in two to four years and commercial systems are cash flow positive in the first month.
All have an expected life span of 25 years," he said.
"On farm, a solar pump is an extremely reliable and economical option, you don't have to refuel it and start it every day, there are no OH&S concerns and there is no need to engage in maintenance and repair of windmill."
Substantial rebates continue to be available for solar power through Renewable Energy Certificates or STC's, a federal government scheme designed to minimise your out of pocket cost through certified installers.
